Auto body repair shops in Fort Lauderdale that fix or repair rust on classic cars ? Are body shops not touching rust jobs? Doesn't seem like they need the business......

Just a classic car owner with a 1969 ford mustang. Found a great shop called Florida's preferred mobile body shop Fort Lauderdale Fl. https://g.co/kgs/qVJFNGs https://www.mobilebodyshopsfl.com/ 5Star Google Rated And Highly recommended by a friend. Now i know these cars can be rusted to no end but your talking minimal rust on this car. Did not even notice the rust under my trunk until i showed up for a paint estimate at local body shop in Fort Lauderdale Fl. keep in mind i had already been quoted a month prior by Florida's preferred mobile body shop and was pretty set on the prices i was getting from them. I do recall something coming up about rust on the trunk and Garrett the owner said he would take care of it with the price that was given. I was a little bent on the price being over 7k seeing his there work i knew it was worth it. Like any big purchase before Going with the first option i get other prices, other options, Check reviews which looked to be 5 stars on google and all of the photos on google reflected great work.. I wanted at least 1 more estimate and i would be ready to make my decision. The next day i went to a shop in downtown fort Lauderdale. I was greeted by very friendly Staff and given a water bottle. A few min later the owner came out and asked me if i would be okay with there waiting list of about 6 months and because i was curious to see why i continued with '' well lets take a look at the car and go from there'' First off i will say no shop owner should ever still be doing business if it takes them 6 months on a waiting list.. what are they building in there? A space ship ? First thing i thought was how punctual the other shop was and quick to arrange service for me, its like there in the same industry but two different sides of the planet. Florida's Preferred Mobile body shop even offered me same day mobile service to fix the rust to prevent water getting in. This other shop wants me to come back next year for my car.... As we moved outside the first thing the owner of the shop did was bend down and look under my rear trunk area witch i know he was looking for the rust mentioned earlier. When he stood back up he said we will need to replace your whole trunk and suspension. This will get you moved up the waiting list closer to 4 months if he could find a donor car in good shape. Based on materials and cost of labor with the donor car i would be around $27,000 without paint. He said if i wanted to paint the car as well it would need to go on a rotisserie to paint the whole under carriage to prevent the replaced floor panels from rusting. Normally this would get billed as two paint jobs but since your having the work done i will paint the undercarriage for free and only charge for the exterior paint job which would be an additional $18,000 if i wanted the paint with road warranty package. He wanted $45,000 and asked me to leave half up front. I kindly told him i would have to think about it then proceeded to make my way back to Florida's preferred mobile body shop to see if i could just drop the car off on the spot. Talk about sticker shock. The whole process became more than i expected. Florida's preferred mobile body shop had originally offered me a full overhaul fixing dents mild rust and a new paint job for only $7600 Grand total cash out the door. Since it was my friend a previous customer of this company who recommended them i was obliged to seriously consider for $7600. This actually included a 4inch x 2inch metal patch in the trunk floor with under coating tinted to match my paint job only on the trunk area not the whole undercarriage. They also did not need to replace my whole trunk floor just near corner a small part. I will say that if you need rust fixed or metal welded back in i would highly recommend this company https://www.mobilebodyshopsfl.com or you can speak with the owner 954-737-8976. I would always get a price from these guys first so your armed with the correct information to make the best decision. They offer free over the estimates 24/7 you can literally just text them and the respond the same day. check out my before and after pics on there google page in weston fl https://g.co/kgs/qVJFNGs
